Project Description.
The UCD Science project delivers a 230,000sqft transformation of the O’Brien Centre for Science, creating one of Europe’s largest and most advanced science facilities. The redevelopment combines deep retrofit and vertical and horizontal extensions to provide state-of-the art laboratories, offices and teaching spaces, all designed to BREEAM Excellent standards.
While the consolidation of facilities improves adjacencies and supports interdisciplinary research, it also incorporates significant energy upgrades and enhanced environmental performance. The result is a next‑generation science precinct that strengthens UCD’s long‑term research and teaching capability.
